Our Pastor

Rev. Justin D. House is honored to serve as the 12th Pastor of Tabernacle Baptist Church, Chesterfield, VA.  Since May 2017, Tabernacle has grown spiritually and physically with the ministry’s motto “We Are A Church That Loves to Show God’s Love”.  As a second generation, Baptist pastor he is passionate about family, community, and discipleship development.

 

His ministry journey began at Pilgrim Journey Baptist Church in Richmond, VA, where he accepted his calling and was licensed in February 2002 by Rev. Angelo V. Chatmon. Rev. House has faithfully served as Youth Minister of Pilgram Journey Baptist Church, Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, Rosewood Avenue, Mt. Olive Baptist Church Glen Allen and as the Minister of Young Adults at the Sixth Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

Rev. House is a product of Henrico County Public Schools.  His educational journey continued at Towson University as an undergraduate student and he received his Master of Divinity from The Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University.  He has previously served as a consultant for Communities In Schools, Inc., the largest stay-in-school network in the United States, Male Coordinator for the Baptist General Convention of Virginia’s “Young Lions” Rites of Passage Program, facilitated youth workshops and retreats, preached revivals and worship services.  His passion to help others has lead him to currently serve as Chairman of the Henrico County Too Smart 2 Start Coalition, a community coalition that promotes health and wellness, and Minister of Christian Education of First African Baptist Church.

 

He is the son of Rev. William D. House, III and the late Eunice Miles House.  He is blessed with  his wife, Rev. Dr. Shajuan House and together they have six children and two grandchildren.
